We can’t believe that, in less than two weeks, our very first Pre-Comp will be here! We are thrilled to introduce this event to our participating dance studios. Pre-Comp allows you to test out your routines in an official competition environment with professional adjudicators before competition season actually begins. We believe it will help dancers get a feel for the structure of competing, subside jitters by better preparing dancers to perform in front of adjudicator’s without the pressure of receiving an official mark, and develop each routine to be its best after receiving the adjudicator’s critiques. We simply can’t get over the stunning photography of Lar Lattray and his perfect capturing of the behind-the-scenes of Cape Town City Ballet‘s performance. They so perfectly demonstrate that stillness and pause right before a show. To see the complete gallery, click here. All photos by Lar Rattray.

What initially drew you to take dance? How long did you take classes for? I was drawn right away to acrobatics. I couldn’t get enough of it! I took all types […]

She loves M&M’s, and she likes to unwind with a good book, sharing a delicious dinner with her hubby, and tackling intricate and magical craft projects. Do you cry in movies? Which ones? Oh man, every sad movie, rom com, family movie, action even… anything with a sad or happy ending. I’m a sap! What was your favorite costume you’ve […]
